Cavity cleaning and debris removal for Canvey Island properties
Canvey Island sits in Essex, roughly 16 miles south of Chelmsford. We work across the SS8 district, including nearby South Benfleet, Rayleigh and Southend-on-Sea.
If your Canvey Island installation has a guarantee, we check it first; the guarantee route may cover the work. Defects such as failed pointing, leaking gutters and bridged damp-proof courses are listed and priced separately for Canvey Island properties, so you can choose who fixes them.
Wind-driven rain is the first thing the surveyor weighs up. Much of Essex sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
As for paperwork, if cavity wall insulation follows in Canvey Island, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

Why debris matters
A clean cavity lets water that gets through the outer leaf drain away. Debris piled at the base or caught on ties makes a bridge for that water. It is a common cause of damp low on walls and around ties, with or without insulation.
