Underfloor insulation for Peebles properties
Our Scottish Borders coverage takes in Peebles (EH45) and nearby Galashiels and Hawick. It is roughly 15 miles west of Galashiels.
Small measures like this are often among the cheapest per pound saved, and they suit Peebles homes of every age. In Peebles homes this is often done on the same visit as a cavity fill, which saves a second trip.
In terms of approvals, if cavity wall insulation follows in Peebles, no building warrant is needed for insulation within a wall, but the work must meet the building standards.

Keeping the void ventilated
Air bricks under a suspended floor must stay clear so the timbers stay dry. Insulation goes between the joists, not across the void, and gaps at skirtings are sealed to stop draughts.
