Wall tie replacement for Merthyr Tydfil properties
We cover Merthyr Tydfil and the CF47 postcode district, including nearby Aberdare, Rhondda and Tonypandy. It is roughly 19 miles north-east of Bridgend.
We never cold-call in Merthyr Tydfil or anywhere else, and we do not work with doorstep claims companies. Damp in an insulated Merthyr Tydfil home is not always the insulation's fault, so the diagnosis comes before any extraction.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Parts of Mid Glamorgan face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
On compliance, if cavity wall insulation follows in Merthyr Tydfil, filling a cavity is notifiable work under the Building Regulations as they apply in Wales, usually self-certified through a competent person scheme.

Ties and cavity insulation
Ties should be checked before a cavity is filled. Fitting remedial ties does not normally stop a cavity being insulated later, and we can do both in one visit. Where cracking suggests movement, we recommend a structural engineer's view first.
