Wall tie replacement for Huyton properties
If your property is in Huyton or the L36 district or nearby Prescot, Halewood and St Helens, it is within our Merseyside coverage. It is about 6 miles east of Liverpool.
If your Huyton installation has a guarantee, we check it first; the guarantee route may cover the work. Where a Huyton wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Merseyside has a mix of moderate and more exposed sites. Hilltop, coastal and west-facing walls take the brunt of wind-driven rain, so the survey records exposure for each elevation before a material is chosen.
On compliance, if cavity wall insulation follows in Huyton, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Rules in England
Filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification if insulation work follows.

Signs of wall tie failure
Horizontal cracks in mortar joints at regular vertical intervals, bulging brickwork, or lifting of the roof verge. Older galvanised ties, especially in walls built before the 1980s, are the usual suspects.
