Wall tie replacement for Widnes properties
Our Cheshire coverage takes in Widnes (WA8) and nearby Runcorn, Warrington and Ellesmere Port Town. It is roughly 14 miles north-east of Chester.
If your Widnes installation has a guarantee, we check it first; the guarantee route may cover the work. We never cold-call in Widnes or anywhere else, and we do not work with doorstep claims companies.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Cheshire has a mix of moderate and more exposed sites. Hilltop, coastal and west-facing walls take the brunt of wind-driven rain, so the survey records exposure for each elevation before a material is chosen.
As for paperwork, if cavity wall insulation follows in Widnes, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Rules in England
Filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification if insulation work follows.

Ties and cavity insulation
Ties should be checked before a cavity is filled. Fitting remedial ties does not normally stop a cavity being insulated later, and we can do both in one visit. Where cracking suggests movement, we recommend a structural engineer's view first.
What is included in Widnes
- Remedial stainless ties to a set pattern
- Making good
- Tie inspection with metal detector and borescope
