Wall tie replacement across Dyfed
We cover 6 towns in Dyfed, including Llanelli, Ammanford, Carmarthen, Aberystwyth, Haverfordwest and more.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Parts of Dyfed face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
We never cold-call in Dyfed or anywhere else, and we do not work with doorstep claims companies. Where a Dyfed wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up.
Building Regulations in Wales
In Wales, filling an existing cavity is also notifiable building work under the Building Regulations as they apply in Wales. A registered installer normally self-certifies it through a competent person scheme; otherwise a building notice goes to your council's building control before work starts. Welsh rules can differ from England's, so the notification route is confirmed in writing on your quote.

Ties and cavity insulation
Ties should be checked before a cavity is filled. Fitting remedial ties does not normally stop a cavity being insulated later, and we can do both in one visit. Where cracking suggests movement, we recommend a structural engineer's view first.
What is included
- Tie inspection with metal detector and borescope
- Remedial stainless ties to a set pattern
- Isolation or removal of old ties where needed
- Making good
