Underfloor insulation for Newbury properties
Our Berkshire coverage takes in Newbury (RG14) and nearby Thatcham, Reading and Lower Earley. It is about 16 miles west of Reading.
We check ventilation as carefully as insulation in Newbury homes, because both matter for keeping a house dry. Where a Newbury home also has empty cavity walls, we can survey those at the same time.
In terms of approvals, if cavity wall insulation follows in Newbury, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Funding in England
In England, ECO4 runs to 31 December 2026 and Warm Homes: Local Grant supports low-income households through councils.

Keeping the void ventilated
Air bricks under a suspended floor must stay clear so the timbers stay dry. Insulation goes between the joists, not across the void, and gaps at skirtings are sealed to stop draughts.
What is included in Newbury
- Insulation between joists
- Draught sealing at skirtings
- Boards relaid
- Floor void inspection
