Party wall cavity insulation for Kidsgrove properties
If your property is in Kidsgrove or the ST7 district or nearby Newcastle under Lyme, Stoke-on-Trent and Longton, it is within our Staffordshire coverage. It is about 6 miles north of Stoke-on-Trent.
Where a Kidsgrove property has an extension or a conservatory, we check how the old and new walls meet, because that junction is often missed. Kidsgrove properties with rendered or painted walls get a closer look at the outer finish, because cracked render can let rain behind it.
Local weather affects which walls can be filled. Staffordshire has a mix of moderate and more exposed sites. Hilltop, coastal and west-facing walls take the brunt of wind-driven rain, so the survey records exposure for each elevation before a material is chosen.
On the rules side, in Kidsgrove filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

Why a party wall loses heat
Many semi-detached and terraced homes built with cavity separating walls have that cavity open to the loft. Air moves up the cavity and out at the top, a loss sometimes called the party wall bypass. Filling the cavity and sealing the top stops it.
