Blown mineral wool insulation for Ely properties
If your property is in Ely or the CB6 district or nearby Newmarket, March and Cambridge, it is within our Cambridgeshire coverage. It is about 15 miles north-east of Cambridge.
If a wall in Ely is not suitable, for example because of an undiagnosed damp patch or a very exposed gable, you are told so in writing with the reason. Where an Ely property has an extension or a conservatory, we check how the old and new walls meet, because that junction is often missed.
Exposure matters for every cavity wall. Much of Cambridgeshire sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
For regulations, in Ely filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Funding in England
In England, ECO4 runs to 31 December 2026 and Warm Homes: Local Grant supports low-income households through councils.

Why choose mineral wool?
Mineral wool fibres are treated to shed water, so moisture that gets into the outer leaf runs down the cavity rather than tracking across. It is classed as non-combustible, which matters for some flats and taller buildings, and it is usually the lower-cost certified option.
