Cavity wall insulation for flats for Chelmsford properties
We cover Chelmsford and the CM1 postcode district, including nearby Billericay, Witham and Maldon. Chelmsford is one of the main towns we cover in Essex.
Blocks of flats in Chelmsford are surveyed as a whole, because the cavity runs across every flat in the building. For landlords and managing agents in Chelmsford, we survey in batches and return a result sheet and fixed price per address.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Much of Essex sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
On compliance, in Chelmsford filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Funding in England
In England, ECO4 runs to 31 December 2026 and Warm Homes: Local Grant supports low-income households through councils.

Why one flat cannot usually be done alone
The cavity runs continuously across the building. The Energy Saving Trust notes that flats need agreement from the whole block. Filling one flat's walls in isolation leaves gaps, and the freeholder normally owns the structure.
