Damp investigation after cavity insulation for Cwmbran properties
Cwmbran sits in Gwent, roughly 5 miles north of Newport. We work across the NP44 district, including nearby Pontypool, Risca and Newport.
We never cold-call in Cwmbran or anywhere else, and we do not work with doorstep claims companies. Where a Cwmbran wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Parts of Gwent face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
On compliance, if cavity wall insulation follows in Cwmbran, filling a cavity is notifiable work under the Building Regulations as they apply in Wales, usually self-certified through a competent person scheme.
