Damp investigation after cavity insulation for Cardiff properties
Our South Glamorgan coverage takes in Cardiff (CF10) and nearby Penarth and Barry. Cardiff is one of the main towns we cover in South Glamorgan.
We never cold-call in Cardiff or anywhere else, and we do not work with doorstep claims companies. Where a Cardiff wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up.
Before any material is chosen, exposure is checked. Parts of South Glamorgan face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
For regulations, if cavity wall insulation follows in Cardiff, filling a cavity is notifiable work under the Building Regulations as they apply in Wales, usually self-certified through a competent person scheme.
