Commercial cavity wall insulation for Solihull properties
Our West Midlands coverage takes in Solihull (B91) and nearby Birmingham, Smethwick and Sutton Coldfield. It is about 7 miles south-east of Birmingham.
Blocks of flats in Solihull are surveyed as a whole, because the cavity runs across every flat in the building. For commercial buildings in Solihull, the survey also considers building use and fire requirements before a material is specified.
Before any material is chosen, exposure is checked. The West Midlands has a mix of moderate and more exposed sites. Hilltop, coastal and west-facing walls take the brunt of wind-driven rain, so the survey records exposure for each elevation before a material is chosen.
As for paperwork, in Solihull filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Funding in England
In England, ECO4 runs to 31 December 2026 and Warm Homes: Local Grant supports low-income households through councils.

What is different on commercial jobs
Access is planned around opening hours, often with towers or MEWPs. Material choice takes account of building use and fire requirements, so non-combustible mineral wool is often specified. Work is usually standard-rated for VAT unless the building qualifies for a relief, which we confirm on the quote.
