Commercial cavity wall insulation for Thurso properties
Our Highlands and Islands coverage takes in Thurso (KW14) and nearby Kirkwall.
Per-address photo records for Thurso properties make compliance files and EPC updates straightforward. For landlords and managing agents in Thurso, we survey in batches and return a result sheet and fixed price per address.
Wind-driven rain is the first thing the surveyor weighs up. Parts of the Highlands and Islands face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
In terms of approvals, in Thurso no building warrant is needed for insulation within a wall, but the work must meet the building standards.
Funding in Scotland
In Scotland, Home Energy Scotland is the route to the Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan and Warmer Homes Scotland.

What is different on commercial jobs
Access is planned around opening hours, often with towers or MEWPs. Material choice takes account of building use and fire requirements, so non-combustible mineral wool is often specified. Work is usually standard-rated for VAT unless the building qualifies for a relief, which we confirm on the quote.
