Cavity insulation top-up for Dartford properties
Dartford sits in Kent, roughly 18 miles north-west of Maidstone. We work across the DA1 district, including nearby Swanley, Gravesend and Strood.
Most Dartford houses built from the 1920s onwards have cavity walls, but the survey still checks each one: cavity width, debris, the condition of the brickwork and how exposed each wall is. Dartford properties with rendered or painted walls get a closer look at the outer finish, because cracked render can let rain behind it.
Wind-driven rain is the first thing the surveyor weighs up. Much of Kent sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
For regulations, in Dartford filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Funding in England
In England, ECO4 runs to 31 December 2026 and Warm Homes: Local Grant supports low-income households through councils.

When a top-up is not enough
If the existing fill is wet, contaminated with debris or breaking down, adding more on top can make things worse. In that case we tell you the honest option, which may be partial or full removal and refill.
