Remove and refill across Nottinghamshire
We cover 10 towns in Nottinghamshire, including Nottingham, Mansfield, Worksop, Newark on Trent, Arnold and more.
Exposure matters for every cavity wall. Much of Nottinghamshire sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
Damp in an insulated Nottinghamshire home is not always the insulation's fault, so the diagnosis comes before any extraction. Defects such as failed pointing, leaking gutters and bridged damp-proof courses are listed and priced separately for Nottinghamshire properties, so you can choose who fixes them.
Building Regulations in England
Filling an existing cavity wall is notifiable building work in England. Either a building notice goes to building control before the work, or the installer self-certifies it through a government-approved competent person scheme such as CIGA's CWISC scheme. The insulation used must also be suitable for the wall it goes into, which is why the survey checks construction, condition and exposure first.

Why refill at all?
Often the original problem was the wrong material for the exposure, poor installation or defects in the outer wall, not cavity insulation as such. Once the defects are fixed and the cavity is clean, a suitable certified system can usually go back in. Where the wall is too exposed for any fill, we say so and leave it empty.
