Remove and refill for Maghull properties
Our Merseyside coverage takes in Maghull (L31) and nearby Kirkby, Bootle and Formby. It is about 7 miles north of Liverpool.
We never cold-call in Maghull or anywhere else, and we do not work with doorstep claims companies. If your Maghull installation has a guarantee, we check it first; the guarantee route may cover the work.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Merseyside has a mix of moderate and more exposed sites. Hilltop, coastal and west-facing walls take the brunt of wind-driven rain, so the survey records exposure for each elevation before a material is chosen.
In terms of approvals, if cavity wall insulation follows in Maghull, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Rules in England
Filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification if insulation work follows.

Why refill at all?
Often the original problem was the wrong material for the exposure, poor installation or defects in the outer wall, not cavity insulation as such. Once the defects are fixed and the cavity is clean, a suitable certified system can usually go back in. Where the wall is too exposed for any fill, we say so and leave it empty.
