Remove and refill for Accrington properties
Accrington sits in Lancashire, about 14 miles east of Preston. We work across the BB5 district, including nearby Rawtenstall, Blackburn and Darwen.
We never cold-call in Accrington or anywhere else, and we do not work with doorstep claims companies. Where an Accrington wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up.
Exposure matters for every cavity wall. Parts of Lancashire face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
In terms of approvals, if cavity wall insulation follows in Accrington, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Rules in England
Filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification if insulation work follows.

Why refill at all?
Often the original problem was the wrong material for the exposure, poor installation or defects in the outer wall, not cavity insulation as such. Once the defects are fixed and the cavity is clean, a suitable certified system can usually go back in. Where the wall is too exposed for any fill, we say so and leave it empty.
What is included in Accrington
