Remove and refill for Airdrie properties
Airdrie sits in Lanarkshire, roughly 7 miles north of Hamilton. We work across the ML6 district, including nearby Coatbridge, Motherwell and Cumbernauld.
Defects such as failed pointing, leaking gutters and bridged damp-proof courses are listed and priced separately for Airdrie properties, so you can choose who fixes them. We never cold-call in Airdrie or anywhere else, and we do not work with doorstep claims companies.
Before any material is chosen, exposure is checked. Parts of Lanarkshire face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
In terms of approvals, if cavity wall insulation follows in Airdrie, no building warrant is needed for insulation within a wall, but the work must meet the building standards.
Rules in Scotland
No building warrant is needed for insulation within a wall, but the work must meet the building standards if insulation work follows.
Sources: Scottish Government: building work not requiring a warrant (schedule 3).
Why refill at all?
Often the original problem was the wrong material for the exposure, poor installation or defects in the outer wall, not cavity insulation as such. Once the defects are fixed and the cavity is clean, a suitable certified system can usually go back in. Where the wall is too exposed for any fill, we say so and leave it empty.
