Remove and refill for Derry properties
Derry sits in County Londonderry. We work across the BT48 district, including nearby Limavady, Coleraine and Magherafelt.
We never cold-call in Derry or anywhere else, and we do not work with doorstep claims companies. Damp in an insulated Derry home is not always the insulation's fault, so the diagnosis comes before any extraction.
Before any material is chosen, exposure is checked. Parts of County Londonderry face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
In terms of approvals, if cavity wall insulation follows in Derry, inserting cavity wall insulation needs a building control application to the council before work starts.
Rules in Northern Ireland
Inserting cavity wall insulation needs a building control application to the council before work starts if insulation work follows.

Why refill at all?
Often the original problem was the wrong material for the exposure, poor installation or defects in the outer wall, not cavity insulation as such. Once the defects are fixed and the cavity is clean, a suitable certified system can usually go back in. Where the wall is too exposed for any fill, we say so and leave it empty.
