Remove and refill for Hawarden properties
Hawarden sits in Clwyd, about 10 miles north of Wrexham. We work across the CH5 district, including nearby Deeside, Buckley and Flint.
Where a Hawarden wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up. If your Hawarden installation has a guarantee, we check it first; the guarantee route may cover the work.
Wind-driven rain is the first thing the surveyor weighs up. Parts of Clwyd face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
On the rules side, if cavity wall insulation follows in Hawarden, filling a cavity is notifiable work under the Building Regulations as they apply in Wales, usually self-certified through a competent person scheme.

Why refill at all?
Often the original problem was the wrong material for the exposure, poor installation or defects in the outer wall, not cavity insulation as such. Once the defects are fixed and the cavity is clean, a suitable certified system can usually go back in. Where the wall is too exposed for any fill, we say so and leave it empty.
