Cavity cleaning and debris removal for Caerphilly properties
Caerphilly sits in Gwent, roughly 9 miles west of Newport. We work across the CF83 district, including nearby Risca, Newport and Cwmbran.
Where a Caerphilly wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up. Defects such as failed pointing, leaking gutters and bridged damp-proof courses are listed and priced separately for Caerphilly properties, so you can choose who fixes them.
Wind-driven rain is the first thing the surveyor weighs up. Parts of Gwent face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
On compliance, if cavity wall insulation follows in Caerphilly, filling a cavity is notifiable work under the Building Regulations as they apply in Wales, usually self-certified through a competent person scheme.

Why debris matters
A clean cavity lets water that gets through the outer leaf drain away. Debris piled at the base or caught on ties makes a bridge for that water. It is a common cause of damp low on walls and around ties, with or without insulation.
