Cavity cleaning and debris removal for Newbury properties
Newbury is among the towns we cover in Berkshire, alongside Thatcham, Reading and Lower Earley. It is roughly 16 miles west of Reading.
Defects such as failed pointing, leaking gutters and bridged damp-proof courses are listed and priced separately for Newbury properties, so you can choose who fixes them. If your Newbury installation has a guarantee, we check it first; the guarantee route may cover the work.
Wind-driven rain is the first thing the surveyor weighs up. Much of Berkshire sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
In terms of approvals, if cavity wall insulation follows in Newbury, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

Why debris matters
A clean cavity lets water that gets through the outer leaf drain away. Debris piled at the base or caught on ties makes a bridge for that water. It is a common cause of damp low on walls and around ties, with or without insulation.
