Wall tie replacement for Salford properties
Our Greater Manchester coverage takes in Salford (M6) and nearby Manchester, Swinton and Stretford. It is around 2 miles west of Manchester.
Defects such as failed pointing, leaking gutters and bridged damp-proof courses are listed and priced separately for Salford properties, so you can choose who fixes them. If your Salford installation has a guarantee, we check it first; the guarantee route may cover the work.
Exposure matters for every cavity wall. Greater Manchester has a mix of moderate and more exposed sites. Hilltop, coastal and west-facing walls take the brunt of wind-driven rain, so the survey records exposure for each elevation before a material is chosen.
As for paperwork, if cavity wall insulation follows in Salford, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

Signs of wall tie failure
Horizontal cracks in mortar joints at regular vertical intervals, bulging brickwork, or lifting of the roof verge. Older galvanised ties, especially in walls built before the 1980s, are the usual suspects.
