Wall tie replacement for Whitehaven properties
Whitehaven is among the towns we cover in Cumbria, alongside Workington, Penrith and Barrow in Furness. It is around 35 miles south-west of Carlisle.
We never cold-call in Whitehaven or anywhere else, and we do not work with doorstep claims companies. Where a Whitehaven wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up.
Exposure matters for every cavity wall. Parts of Cumbria face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
For regulations, if cavity wall insulation follows in Whitehaven, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

Signs of wall tie failure
Horizontal cracks in mortar joints at regular vertical intervals, bulging brickwork, or lifting of the roof verge. Older galvanised ties, especially in walls built before the 1980s, are the usual suspects.
