Party wall cavity insulation in Lancashire

Party wall insulation fills the cavity in the separating wall between two houses, which otherwise lets warm air rise up and out through the loft. Our Lancashire coverage includes Preston, Burnley, Blackburn and the towns around them.

Party wall cavity insulation across Lancashire

We cover 18 towns in Lancashire, including Preston, Burnley, Blackburn, Blackpool, Morecambe and more.

Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Parts of Lancashire face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.

If a wall in Lancashire is not suitable, for example because of an undiagnosed damp patch or a very exposed gable, you are told so in writing with the reason. A suitable wall in Lancashire is usually filled in a single day from outside, with drill holes made good to match the pointing.

Building Regulations in England

Filling an existing cavity wall is notifiable building work in England. Either a building notice goes to building control before the work, or the installer self-certifies it through a government-approved competent person scheme such as CIGA's CWISC scheme. The insulation used must also be suitable for the wall it goes into, which is why the survey checks construction, condition and exposure first.

Funding in England

  • ECO4, the energy-supplier scheme, has been extended to 31 December 2026 and government has said there will be no successor supplier obligation.
  • The Great British Insulation Scheme closed as planned on 31 March 2026.
  • Warm Homes: Local Grant supports low-income households in England through councils, and the January 2026 Warm Homes Plan sets out fully funded upgrades for low-income homes, with more detail still being published.

What we need from you and your neighbour

The cavity is shared, so we talk you through notifying your neighbour before work. Filling is done from your side, usually through the loft. The survey confirms the wall is a cavity wall and not solid masonry, and checks for cables, flues and any gaps that would let fill escape.

What is included

  • Loft inspection and borescope check
  • Certified fill to the separating wall
  • Sealing at the top of the cavity
  • Neighbour notification guidance
  • Written result and photos

Party wall cavity insulation in Lancashire: questions

Do you cover all of Lancashire?

Yes. We cover 18 towns across Lancashire, including Preston, Burnley, Blackburn and Blackpool, and the villages around them. Island and remote addresses are surveyed by arrangement.

Do you cold-call in Lancashire?

No. We only come out when you have asked us to. If someone cold-calls offering free insulation, check before you agree to anything.

Are there grants for insulation in Lancashire?

In England, ECO4 runs to 31 December 2026 and Warm Homes: Local Grant supports low-income households through councils. We cannot promise funding, but we will point you to the right official route.

Is my Lancashire home too exposed for cavity insulation?

Parts of Lancashire get some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, so the survey is stricter and some walls are better left unfilled. The survey records the exposure of each wall before recommending a material, or recommending against filling.
