Party wall cavity insulation for Dartford properties
Dartford is among the towns we cover in Kent, alongside Swanley, Gravesend and Strood. It is roughly 18 miles north-west of Maidstone.
A suitable wall in Dartford is usually filled in a single day from outside, with drill holes made good to match the pointing. For semi-detached and terraced homes in Dartford, cavity barriers are fitted where your wall meets your neighbour's so the fill stays on your side.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Much of Kent sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
On compliance, in Dartford filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Funding in England
In England, ECO4 runs to 31 December 2026 and Warm Homes: Local Grant supports low-income households through councils.

Why a party wall loses heat
Many semi-detached and terraced homes built with cavity separating walls have that cavity open to the loft. Air moves up the cavity and out at the top, a loss sometimes called the party wall bypass. Filling the cavity and sealing the top stops it.
