Party wall cavity insulation for Gosport properties
Gosport is among the towns we cover in Hampshire, alongside Portsmouth, Fareham and Waterlooville. It is roughly 14 miles south-east of Southampton.
Most Gosport houses built from the 1920s onwards have cavity walls, but the survey still checks each one: cavity width, debris, the condition of the brickwork and how exposed each wall is. For semi-detached and terraced homes in Gosport, cavity barriers are fitted where your wall meets your neighbour's so the fill stays on your side.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Hampshire has a mix of moderate and more exposed sites. Hilltop, coastal and west-facing walls take the brunt of wind-driven rain, so the survey records exposure for each elevation before a material is chosen.
As for paperwork, in Gosport filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

What we need from you and your neighbour
The cavity is shared, so we talk you through notifying your neighbour before work. Filling is done from your side, usually through the loft. The survey confirms the wall is a cavity wall and not solid masonry, and checks for cables, flues and any gaps that would let fill escape.
