Party wall cavity insulation for Shepherds Bush properties
Our Greater London coverage takes in Shepherds Bush (W12) and nearby Notting Hill, Chiswick and Fulham. It is roughly 4 miles west of London.
Most Shepherds Bush houses built from the 1920s onwards have cavity walls, but the survey still checks each one: cavity width, debris, the condition of the brickwork and how exposed each wall is. Where a Shepherds Bush property has an extension or a conservatory, we check how the old and new walls meet, because that junction is often missed.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Much of Greater London sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
As for paperwork, in Shepherds Bush filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

Why a party wall loses heat
Many semi-detached and terraced homes built with cavity separating walls have that cavity open to the loft. Air moves up the cavity and out at the top, a loss sometimes called the party wall bypass. Filling the cavity and sealing the top stops it.
What is included in Shepherds Bush

- Certified fill to the separating wall
