Party wall cavity insulation for Tewkesbury properties
Tewkesbury is among the towns we cover in Gloucestershire, alongside Cheltenham, Gloucester and Stroud. It is about 9 miles north of Gloucester.
Most Tewkesbury houses built from the 1920s onwards have cavity walls, but the survey still checks each one: cavity width, debris, the condition of the brickwork and how exposed each wall is. Where a Tewkesbury property has an extension or a conservatory, we check how the old and new walls meet, because that junction is often missed.
Local weather affects which walls can be filled. Gloucestershire has a mix of moderate and more exposed sites. Hilltop, coastal and west-facing walls take the brunt of wind-driven rain, so the survey records exposure for each elevation before a material is chosen.
On the rules side, in Tewkesbury filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Funding in England

What we need from you and your neighbour
The cavity is shared, so we talk you through notifying your neighbour before work. Filling is done from your side, usually through the loft. The survey confirms the wall is a cavity wall and not solid masonry, and checks for cables, flues and any gaps that would let fill escape.
