Party wall cavity insulation for Barnstaple properties
If your property is in Barnstaple or the EX31 district or nearby Bideford, Tiverton and Exeter, it is within our Devon coverage. It is roughly 34 miles north-west of Exeter.
For semi-detached and terraced homes in Barnstaple, cavity barriers are fitted where your wall meets your neighbour's so the fill stays on your side. If a wall in Barnstaple is not suitable, for example because of an undiagnosed damp patch or a very exposed gable, you are told so in writing with the reason.
Exposure matters for every cavity wall. Parts of Devon face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
On compliance, in Barnstaple filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Funding in England
In England, ECO4 runs to 31 December 2026 and Warm Homes: Local Grant supports low-income households through councils.

What we need from you and your neighbour
The cavity is shared, so we talk you through notifying your neighbour before work. Filling is done from your side, usually through the loft. The survey confirms the wall is a cavity wall and not solid masonry, and checks for cables, flues and any gaps that would let fill escape.
