Party wall cavity insulation for Newry properties
Our County Down coverage takes in Newry (BT34) and nearby Banbridge, Downpatrick and Newtownards. It is roughly 43 miles south-west of Bangor.
A suitable wall in Newry is usually filled in a single day from outside, with drill holes made good to match the pointing. Newry properties with rendered or painted walls get a closer look at the outer finish, because cracked render can let rain behind it.
Before any material is chosen, exposure is checked. Parts of County Down face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
For regulations, in Newry inserting cavity wall insulation needs a building control application to the council before work starts.
Funding in Northern Ireland
In Northern Ireland, the Affordable Warmth Scheme helps eligible households with a gross income under £23,000.

What we need from you and your neighbour
The cavity is shared, so we talk you through notifying your neighbour before work. Filling is done from your side, usually through the loft. The survey confirms the wall is a cavity wall and not solid masonry, and checks for cables, flues and any gaps that would let fill escape.
What is included in Newry
