Repointing and pre-insulation repairs for Darwen properties
If your property is in Darwen or the BB3 district or nearby Blackburn, Accrington and Chorley, it is within our Lancashire coverage. It is roughly 11 miles south-east of Preston.
Damp in an insulated Darwen home is not always the insulation's fault, so the diagnosis comes before any extraction. We never cold-call in Darwen or anywhere else, and we do not work with doorstep claims companies.
Before any material is chosen, exposure is checked. Parts of Lancashire face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
For regulations, if cavity wall insulation follows in Darwen, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

Why repairs come first
Energy Saving Trust advice is to fix brickwork, pointing, roofs, gutters and downpipes before filling. A filled cavity is less forgiving of a wet outer leaf than an empty one, so we price repairs separately and you choose who carries them out.
