Repointing and pre-insulation repairs across Essex
We cover 21 towns in Essex, including Southend-on-Sea, Basildon, Colchester, Chelmsford, Harlow and more.
Exposure matters for every cavity wall. Much of Essex sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
If your Essex installation has a guarantee, we check it first; the guarantee route may cover the work. Where an Essex wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up.
Building Regulations in England
Filling an existing cavity wall is notifiable building work in England. Either a building notice goes to building control before the work, or the installer self-certifies it through a government-approved competent person scheme such as CIGA's CWISC scheme. The insulation used must also be suitable for the wall it goes into, which is why the survey checks construction, condition and exposure first.

Why repairs come first
Energy Saving Trust advice is to fix brickwork, pointing, roofs, gutters and downpipes before filling. A filled cavity is less forgiving of a wet outer leaf than an empty one, so we price repairs separately and you choose who carries them out.
What is included
