Existing insulation and guarantee check for Blackburn properties
Our Lancashire coverage takes in Blackburn (BB2) and nearby Darwen, Accrington and Chorley. It is around 9 miles east of Preston.
Every inspection point in Blackburn is photographed and logged, so you have a record to show a buyer, lender or contractor. The written result for your Blackburn property is plain English: what we found, what it means and what, if anything, to do next.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Parts of Lancashire face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
On compliance, if cavity wall insulation follows in Blackburn, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

Tracing a guarantee
Many cavity fills carry a 25-year guarantee from the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency (CIGA). CIGA can confirm whether a property is covered and can issue a duplicate guarantee for a fee; at the time of writing that fee is £60 including VAT, and proof of ownership is required.
