Existing insulation and guarantee check for Pontypool properties
Our Gwent coverage takes in Pontypool (NP4) and nearby Cwmbran, Risca and Newport. It is around 8 miles north of Newport.
The written result for your Pontypool property is plain English: what we found, what it means and what, if anything, to do next. Every inspection point in Pontypool is photographed and logged, so you have a record to show a buyer, lender or contractor.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Parts of Gwent face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
In terms of approvals, if cavity wall insulation follows in Pontypool, filling a cavity is notifiable work under the Building Regulations as they apply in Wales, usually self-certified through a competent person scheme.

Tracing a guarantee
Many cavity fills carry a 25-year guarantee from the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency (CIGA). CIGA can confirm whether a property is covered and can issue a duplicate guarantee for a fee; at the time of writing that fee is £60 including VAT, and proof of ownership is required.
