Existing insulation and guarantee check for Barnes properties
We cover Barnes and the SW13 postcode district, including nearby Chiswick, Putney and Fulham. It is around 6 miles south-west of London.
The written result for your Barnes property is plain English: what we found, what it means and what, if anything, to do next. Where a Barnes wall shows cold patches or damp, the survey targets those areas first rather than sampling at random.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Much of Greater London sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
On the rules side, if cavity wall insulation follows in Barnes, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

Tracing a guarantee
Many cavity fills carry a 25-year guarantee from the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency (CIGA). CIGA can confirm whether a property is covered and can issue a duplicate guarantee for a fee; at the time of writing that fee is £60 including VAT, and proof of ownership is required.
