Existing insulation and guarantee check for Macclesfield properties
Macclesfield sits in Cheshire, about 32 miles east of Chester. We work across the SK11 district, including nearby Wilmslow, Congleton and Northwich.
The written result for your Macclesfield property is plain English: what we found, what it means and what, if anything, to do next. Every inspection point in Macclesfield is photographed and logged, so you have a record to show a buyer, lender or contractor.
Wind-driven rain is the first thing the surveyor weighs up. Cheshire has a mix of moderate and more exposed sites. Hilltop, coastal and west-facing walls take the brunt of wind-driven rain, so the survey records exposure for each elevation before a material is chosen.
On the rules side, if cavity wall insulation follows in Macclesfield, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

Tracing a guarantee
Many cavity fills carry a 25-year guarantee from the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency (CIGA). CIGA can confirm whether a property is covered and can issue a duplicate guarantee for a fee; at the time of writing that fee is £60 including VAT, and proof of ownership is required.
