Existing insulation and guarantee check for March properties
If your property is in March or the PE15 district or nearby Wisbech, Ely and Peterborough, it is within our Cambridgeshire coverage. It is roughly 24 miles north of Cambridge.
Buyers and sellers in March often book this check when a survey report or EPC raises questions about the walls. Where a March wall shows cold patches or damp, the survey targets those areas first rather than sampling at random.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Much of Cambridgeshire sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
For regulations, if cavity wall insulation follows in March, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

Tracing a guarantee
Many cavity fills carry a 25-year guarantee from the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency (CIGA). CIGA can confirm whether a property is covered and can issue a duplicate guarantee for a fee; at the time of writing that fee is £60 including VAT, and proof of ownership is required.
