Draught-proofing for Scarborough properties
Scarborough is among the towns we cover in North Yorkshire, alongside Redcar, York and Middlesbrough. It is roughly 35 miles north-east of York.
Small measures like this are often among the cheapest per pound saved, and they suit Scarborough homes of every age. We check ventilation as carefully as insulation in Scarborough homes, because both matter for keeping a house dry.
On the rules side, if cavity wall insulation follows in Scarborough, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Funding in England
In England, ECO4 runs to 31 December 2026 and Warm Homes: Local Grant supports low-income households through councils.

Ventilation still matters
Trickle vents, air bricks and extractor fans are there for a reason. We seal accidental gaps, not the ventilation your home needs to keep condensation down.
