Draught-proofing for Merthyr Tydfil properties
We cover Merthyr Tydfil and the CF47 postcode district, including nearby Aberdare, Rhondda and Tonypandy. It is around 19 miles north-east of Bridgend.
In Merthyr Tydfil homes this is often done on the same visit as a cavity fill, which saves a second trip. Where a Merthyr Tydfil home also has empty cavity walls, we can survey those at the same time.
In terms of approvals, if cavity wall insulation follows in Merthyr Tydfil, filling a cavity is notifiable work under the Building Regulations as they apply in Wales, usually self-certified through a competent person scheme.
Funding in Wales
In Wales, Warm Homes Nest offers free improvements to eligible low-income households, and ECO4 runs to 31 December 2026.
Sources: Welsh Government: warmer and more energy efficient homes (July 2026); GOV.UK: extending the ECO4 end date, government response.
Ventilation still matters
Trickle vents, air bricks and extractor fans are there for a reason. We seal accidental gaps, not the ventilation your home needs to keep condensation down.
