Damp investigation after cavity insulation for Evesham properties
We cover Evesham and the WR11 postcode district, including nearby Worcester, Droitwich and Redditch. It is about 13 miles south-east of Worcester.
We never cold-call in Evesham or anywhere else, and we do not work with doorstep claims companies. Where an Evesham wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Worcestershire has a mix of moderate and more exposed sites. Hilltop, coastal and west-facing walls take the brunt of wind-driven rain, so the survey records exposure for each elevation before a material is chosen.
On compliance, if cavity wall insulation follows in Evesham, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Rules in England
Filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification if insulation work follows.

Common causes we check
Defective pointing, cracked render and porous bricks letting rain in; leaking gutters and downpipes; fill bridging the cavity where mortar droppings or debris have collected; ground levels above the damp-proof course; and condensation from cooking, drying clothes and too little ventilation.
