Damp investigation after cavity insulation for Accrington properties
We cover Accrington and the BB5 postcode district, including nearby Rawtenstall, Blackburn and Darwen. It is roughly 14 miles east of Preston.
Where an Accrington wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up. Defects such as failed pointing, leaking gutters and bridged damp-proof courses are listed and priced separately for Accrington properties, so you can choose who fixes them.
Local weather affects which walls can be filled. Parts of Lancashire face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
On compliance, if cavity wall insulation follows in Accrington, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
