Damp investigation after cavity insulation for Berkhamsted properties
Our Hertfordshire coverage takes in Berkhamsted (HP4) and nearby Hemel Hempstead, Rickmansworth and Harpenden. It is about 10 miles west of St Albans.
Defects such as failed pointing, leaking gutters and bridged damp-proof courses are listed and priced separately for Berkhamsted properties, so you can choose who fixes them. If your Berkhamsted installation has a guarantee, we check it first; the guarantee route may cover the work.
Wind-driven rain is the first thing the surveyor weighs up. Much of Hertfordshire sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
In terms of approvals, if cavity wall insulation follows in Berkhamsted, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
