Damp investigation after cavity insulation for Milton Keynes properties
If your property is in Milton Keynes or the MK9 district or nearby Bletchley, Aylesbury and Chesham, it is within our Buckinghamshire coverage. Milton Keynes is one of the main towns we cover in Buckinghamshire.
We never cold-call in Milton Keynes or anywhere else, and we do not work with doorstep claims companies. Where a Milton Keynes wall does need work, bricks are lifted and rebuilt in matching mortar, and the cavity is checked with a camera before it is closed up.
Wind-driven rain is the first thing the surveyor weighs up. Much of Buckinghamshire sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
On the rules side, if cavity wall insulation follows in Milton Keynes, filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

Common causes we check
Defective pointing, cracked render and porous bricks letting rain in; leaking gutters and downpipes; fill bridging the cavity where mortar droppings or debris have collected; ground levels above the damp-proof course; and condensation from cooking, drying clothes and too little ventilation.
