Cavity wall suitability survey for Blackburn properties
Our Lancashire coverage takes in Blackburn (BB2) and nearby Darwen, Accrington and Chorley. It is roughly 9 miles east of Preston.
Where a Blackburn wall shows cold patches or damp, the survey targets those areas first rather than sampling at random. Buyers and sellers in Blackburn often book this check when a survey report or EPC raises questions about the walls.
Local weather affects which walls can be filled. Parts of Lancashire face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
On compliance, in Blackburn filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Rules in England
