Cavity wall suitability survey for Falmouth properties
Falmouth is among the towns we cover in Cornwall, alongside Truro, Redruth and Camborne. It is around 7 miles south of Truro.
A survey in Falmouth gives you facts before anyone drills: what the wall is, what is in the cavity and whether it is sound. Buyers and sellers in Falmouth often book this check when a survey report or EPC raises questions about the walls.
Every elevation is judged on its own exposure. Parts of Cornwall face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
For regulations, in Falmouth filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Rules in England
Filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification if insulation work follows.
