Cavity wall insulation for Newport properties
If your property is in Newport or the NP20 district or nearby Risca, Cwmbran and Pontypool, it is within our Gwent coverage. Newport is one of the main towns we cover in Gwent.
Newport properties with rendered or painted walls get a closer look at the outer finish, because cracked render can let rain behind it. Where a Newport property has an extension or a conservatory, we check how the old and new walls meet, because that junction is often missed.
Local weather affects which walls can be filled. Parts of Gwent face some of the heaviest wind-driven rain in the UK, especially exposed coastal and upland sites. Here the survey is stricter: some walls suit only certain certified systems, and some should not be filled at all.
In terms of approvals, in Newport filling a cavity is notifiable work under the Building Regulations as they apply in Wales, usually self-certified through a competent person scheme.
Funding in Wales
In Wales, Warm Homes Nest offers free improvements to eligible low-income households, and ECO4 runs to 31 December 2026.

What happens on the day?
Holes of around 22mm are drilled in the mortar joints in a set pattern, roughly a metre apart. The insulation is blown in from the bottom up until each section is full, then every hole is filled with colour-matched mortar. Air bricks and flues are protected, and a cavity barrier is fitted where your wall joins a neighbour's.
