Cavity wall insulation for Ruislip properties
Our Greater London coverage takes in Ruislip (HA4) and nearby Northolt, Uxbridge and Harrow. It is about 14 miles west of London.
Where a Ruislip property has an extension or a conservatory, we check how the old and new walls meet, because that junction is often missed. Most Ruislip houses built from the 1920s onwards have cavity walls, but the survey still checks each one: cavity width, debris, the condition of the brickwork and how exposed each wall is.
Exposure matters for every cavity wall. Much of Greater London sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
As for paperwork, in Ruislip filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.
Funding in England
In England, ECO4 runs to 31 December 2026 and Warm Homes: Local Grant supports low-income households through councils.

Is my wall suitable for cavity wall insulation?
Most homes built from the 1920s onwards have cavity walls, but having a cavity is not the same as being suitable. The Energy Saving Trust's rule of thumb is a cavity of at least 50mm, clear of rubble, behind masonry in good condition, on a wall that is not exposed to severe driving rain or flood risk.
