Cavity wall insulation for High Wycombe properties
If your property is in High Wycombe or the HP11 district or nearby Amersham, Chesham and Chalfont Saint Peter, it is within our Buckinghamshire coverage. It is roughly 29 miles south of Milton Keynes.
Most High Wycombe houses built from the 1920s onwards have cavity walls, but the survey still checks each one: cavity width, debris, the condition of the brickwork and how exposed each wall is. If a wall in High Wycombe is not suitable, for example because of an undiagnosed damp patch or a very exposed gable, you are told so in writing with the reason.
Before any material is chosen, exposure is checked. Much of Buckinghamshire sits in the more sheltered driving-rain zones of the UK, which widens the choice of fill. Exposed elevations, coastal sites and high ground still get checked wall by wall.
For regulations, in High Wycombe filling a cavity is notifiable building work and needs a building notice or competent-person self-certification.

Is my wall suitable for cavity wall insulation?
Most homes built from the 1920s onwards have cavity walls, but having a cavity is not the same as being suitable. The Energy Saving Trust's rule of thumb is a cavity of at least 50mm, clear of rubble, behind masonry in good condition, on a wall that is not exposed to severe driving rain or flood risk.
